Behaviour
As a church school, the fundamental principles behind our approaches to behaviour are those of reflection, forgiveness, reconciliation and love towards all members of the school community. These sit within our church school values of love, hope, courage, forgiveness, generosity and humility.
Each child is part of our school community and it is each individual's responsibility to make it a place where everyone is able learn and grow in a safe, inclusive, trusting and supportive environment. As Ofsted (April 2025) commented in our most recent report, “In this inclusive school, staff build strong, supportive relationships with pupils . This helps pupils to feel a sense of belonging. Pupils know they can approach trusted adult s in
school if they have any worries or concerns. Pupils are confident that staff will listen to and help them. Pupils learn to understand their emotions and are supported to manage their feelings. Pupils understand and follow the school's behaviour code of ready, respectful, safe. They regularly demonstrate the school values which include love, hope and forgiveness. This means that lessons are rarely disrupted and any friendship issues are quickly resolved."
We strive to work collaboratively with children, staff and parents, keeping the child at the centre of our approach. We also look outwards to our partners and colleagues and have recently worked with the DfE's Behaviour Hubs programme and our governing body in order to review our behaviour policy. This policy aims to set out the agreed approach to celebrating positive behaviour and procedures for dealing with negative behaviour.
